The "Friends and Foundation of the Northfield Public Library" (FFNPL) is a non-profit, community-based organization since 1983 that supports the Northfield Public Library. In cooperation with the Northfield Public Library, FFNPL supports early literacy programs, recruits volunteers, provides support for equipment in the Library such as computers and eBook readers, and organizes special events including fundraising trivia bees, concerts, speakers and book readings.

Friends to Establish Endowment! $10,000 Challenge Match Announced!

With the Northfield Public Library renovation and expansion project complete, and the new Bookmobile successfully funded, the Friends turn this year to a long-standing goal: establishing a permanent endowment that will generate funds each year to support our Library in its many wonderful and important activities and ongoing needs. By establishing a permanent endowment, the Friends seek to achieve these three critical goals:

  • Enable the Library's many friends to establish a permanent legacy that will benefit the Library in perpetuity;
  • Increase the Friends' capacity to support Library initiatives from year to year, through an additional, regular source of income;
  • Allow the Friends to manage these resources responsibly and in ways that help the endowment grow over time.

The Friends seek to raise $20,000 to establish this permanent endowment fund. To help us reach our goal, the Friends have secured $10,000 in matching funds which means that each dollar donated will be doubled (up to $10,000). Give on Give to the Max day (Nov. 16) or anytime!

Book bags for sale
at the library. They are also excellent beach and pool side bags, travel bags, picnic bags and, in a pinch, laundry bags.  If you forget this bag when you go to the library, look for the Boomerang Bags, reusable returnable cloth book bags.
We were excited to help feature the new orange-and-blue book bike and trailer at numerous events this past summer!

We welcome your donations and membership in FFNPL and your support of the work we do for the benefit of our library.
